Steve Kerr Says Chris Paul's Injury Is a 'Shame'

The Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr feels bad for Chris Paul after facing a hamstring injury during the final minute of Game 5 against the Houston Rockets.

During Saturday's Game 6, Golden State Warriors were down to the Rockets by 17 by the end of the first quarter before realizing they were the Golden State Warriors. They'd come out on top, 115-86, to force a Game 7 in Houston.

Before the comeback win and the ensuing ruckus, Warriors head coach  Steve Kerr still had Chris Paul in mind. The guard had to sit out Game 6 after suffering a bad a hamstring injury during the final minute of Game 5 against the Rockets. Kerr expressed his sympathies during pregame interviews.

"More than anything, I feel bad for Chris,” said Kerr, according to ESPN. "The guy’s a phenomenal player and competitor and pretty much willed his team the last two games. He’s just been haunted by these types of injuries in his career, and it’s a shame. I hate when anybody gets hurt."

There is still no word on whether or not Paul will be well enough in time to play Game 7 on Monday, but things don't look great. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that sources have said a chance of a return is "less likely than likely, but working every angle to try."

With about 50 seconds to go during the last quarter of Game 5, Paul was attempting a floater when he fell to the floor. He limped around before he was taken off the court. This injury marks the third time in the last four postseasons Paul had to take a seat due to injury.
