NFL safeties are, name aside, the most dangerous players around. They lurk over the middle of the field waiting for unsuspecting receivers to come across their sights. They're usually around six feet tall and over 200 lbs, giving them similar bulk to many wide receivers, but here's where the tables become awfully one-sided: safeties have a running start on their tackles, lowering their shoulders at full-speed to deliver powerful amounts of force into their targets.
Browns safety Donte Whitner comes in at 5'10" and 208 lbs, and he runs a 4.4 40-yard-dash. Give Sir Hitner even the smallest window of opportunity, and he's going to blow his man up.
Even LeBron was shook after that hit on Theo Riddick.
I'd never want to catch a pass across the middle with @DonteWhitner lurking. No way Jose!

But, as its been noted, Whitner's hits don't always turn in to real tackles, and preseason hits that don't turn in to tackles and allow a 1st down aren't really all that cool.
Donte Whitner throws big hit, once again requires teammate to actually tackle the man he hits

Donte Whitner bragging when Detroit gets a first down. Some things never change.

*Goes back to waiting for Johnny Manziel to sneeze on the field so we can GIF it and celebrate Johnny Manziel's first NFL sneeze*
