The early days of social media were wild. Kids were out here getting taken off of MySpace meet-ups, everyone's profile pic was some 150x150 flip phone camera shot, and #reacting was rampant. Pro pics are way sicker now, but arguing over the internet runs still freely. Yet as users have matured with social media networks, in some cases, they've chilled out. Only trolls and bored people go out of their way to launch attacks on others via Twitter or Facebook—the rest of us don't have the time for that crap/we're trying to stay low and build and not piss off other humans.
But because social media is indeed a public forum, it's sometimes too hard to resist a commenter and/or hater who says just the right thing to make you snap. Nobody enjoys getting flamed in public, and "being the bigger man" isn't always the right option. Professional athletes go through the same motions with their social media accounts too. And when they hit back, the weight of their massive follower counts fall into their victim's mentions. It's not pretty. From Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard to Curt Schilling and Brandon Marshall, Bleacher Report names 10 Athletes You Don't Want to Mess with on Social Media. You can check out their latest list here.
