Some of the biggest stars in the world will gather in North Carolina this month for the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend. And although most of them will strictly go as spectators, at least two dozen of these stars will step onto the court to get in on the basketball action for the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game.

This year's matchup will be Home team vs. Away team, with the Home roster featuring celebrities with ties to the Carolinas. Home players include Luke Cage star Mike Colter, Rapsody, and former NFL star Steve Smith. The Away team will have Bad Bunny, Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry, comedian Hasan Minhaj, and Quavo, the reigning All-Star Celebrity Game MVP. Three-time Olympic champion Dawn Staley will coach the Home team, and WNBA champion Seattle Storm's Sue Bird will coach the Away team.

For the first time ever, each roster will be rounded out by a "hometown hero," an exemplary citizen who will have a chance to play in the game. Home will have Jason Weinmann, a 47-year-old Marine who rescued flood victims during Hurricane Florence; Away will have James Shaw Jr., a 29-year-old Nashville resident who disarmed a gunman at a Tennessee Waffle House.

The 2019 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game, presented by Ruffles, will go down Feb. 15 at Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte. The event will air exclusively on ESPN and the ESPN app.
