The Toronto Raptors have done it.

Established back in 1995, the Raptors were able to put away the Golden State Warriors to win their very first NBA championship in franchise history. The 6 win it in six.

The Raptors' "global ambassador," is of course, very happy.

In their last game at Oakland's Oracle Arena, the Warriors battled to try and force a Game 7 after going down 3-1 in the series behind a brilliant performance from Klay Thompson who lived up to his "Game 6 Klay" moniker, scoring 30 points in 32 minutes on just 12 shots. His game unfortunately came to an end early when he suffered a knee injury.

With his status for the rest of the game up in the air, Thompson returned to shoot two free throws with the understanding that he wouldn't be able to return if he didn't make those attempts.

As the Warriors live in the shadow of letting Kevin Durant play through a calf injury, the team decided to keep Klay out for the remainder of the game.

Despite the seemingly insurmountable circumstances, the Warriors were able to keep within striking distance. However, with the game on the line, Steph Curry was unable to knock down a last-second game-winning shot.

This year's Finals featured some last-second drama when Chris Webber passed the baton to Draymond Green when he tried calling for a timeout that the Warriors didn't have.

Green's lapse led to a technical that resulted in a slow, painful death that was capped off by consecutive clutch free throws from Kawhi Leonard. With their win tonight, the Raptors were able to do the unthinkable and take three in Oracle.

The final score of the game was 114-110. Kawhi Leonard was named MVP.

Since the first NBA game was played in Toronto, the Larry O'Brien Trophy is truly coming home with this Raptors' victory.

Although the Warriors weren't able to make the three-peat happen someone else did.
