Pepperidge Farm remembers, and apparently, so does Wayne Rooney. Back in February, King Barrett called Rooney for taking a dive in Manchester United's match against Preston North End in the FA Cup.
The perceived flop in the box by Rooney helped give United a penalty kick that would secure the victory and end the striker's eight-week scoring drought. Even though time, especially of the eight-month variety, typically heals all wounds, their simmering feud came to a head during tonight's WWE Raw in the United Kingdom.
Barrett confronted Wayne, who was sitting ringside next to his six-year-old Kai, telling him that he didn't want to embarrass the United striker in front of his child because he “experiences that every time [Rooney] steps on a football pitch.” Rooney responded by delivering a swift (and strong) slap to the face.
Afterwards, Barrett threatened to get his revenge by stopping Manchester United's stomping grounds, Old Trafford, on Twitter.
And in the post-match interview.
No matter what Barrett has in store for Rooney, something tells us that Rooney and his hands are ready.
