Soccer Player Albert Ebosse Dies After Sustaining Head Injury From Object Thrown Onto Field

Following an incident where a fan threw an unidentified object onto the field, striker Albert Ebosse sadly died from the contact.

Algerian football club JS Kabylie confirms that striker Albert Ebosse has died after being hit in the head by an object thrown from the stands. During the final moments of his team's match against USM Alger in Tizi Ouzou, Ebosse was struck by an unidentified object before being rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A statement released on Kabylie's website added:


'The Ministry of Interior and Local Government, speaking through minister Tayeb Belaiz, has given an instruction to open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Albert Ebosse."

In addition, the website believes that a "'shower of stones' from home fans came down on the opening of the player tunnel following the match, and that Ebosse was not specifically targeted." Ebosse was only 24 years old.
