Watch a Motorcyclist Pop His Sidecar Into the Air Negotiating the Curves on Mulholland Drive in L.A.

This seems like a very novel way to die.

Motorcycle side cars feel vaguely quaint to us. Sean Connery rode one in The Last Crusade, that was pretty dope, but really, what's the point of assuming the risk of motorcycle riding without actually, you know, getting to ride a motorcycle?

Over the weekend a rider in L.A. rendered that question completely moot. Piloting a bike with a rider-less sidecar, he simply pops the sidecar into the air to negotiate the switchbacks on Mulholland Drive. We can't imagine any practical application for this technique whatsoever, but it does look pretty cool (not to mention certifiably insane).
