Lakers head coach Byron Scott spent more than a decade playing in the NBA. He won three championships with the Lakers back in the 1980s and has coached in the league for 17 years now. So it's safe to say that he knows a thing or two about the NBA and how it works. But despite this, one of his players Nick Young doesn't seem to value his opinion.
Over the course of the 2014-15 NBA season, Scott has criticized Swaggy P on a number of occasions. Most recently, he said that Young is going to have to grow up if he wants to enjoy a long, productive NBA career. But last night, when Young was asked about Scott's criticisms, he said that he takes them "with a grain of salt." And he also said that he doesn't value Scott's feedback. At all.
"Nah," he said. "I don't know. I feel like it's just a target toward me. It's a little unfair. But it's cool."
It's probably not the kind of thing you want to say about your own head coach, especially when he's scheduled to be back next season. But it's also exactly what we'd expect Swaggy to say. So we're guessing Scott won't put too much stock into it.
