West Virginia knocked off Maryland in the NCAA Tournament's Round of 32 last night to advance to the Sweet 16 later this week. So as of right now, we should be talking about how well the Mountaineers played against the Terrapins. But we're not, and it's all because of some things that WVU head coach Bob Huggins' daughters Jenna and Jacque wrote on Twitter last night.
The two women, who are believed to be in their early 30s, took to Twitter and made several disparaging statements about Maryland player Dez Wells. Wells was accused of raping a woman back in 2012 during his time at Xavier—he was never formally charged and later reached a settlement with the school after claiming that he was falsely accused of rape—so Jenna and Jacque used Sunday night's game as an opportunity to call Wells out.
Jenna sent out these tweets:
1.
And Jacque followed her lead by sending these:
2.
Several media outlets are also reporting that the two yelled at Wells during the game. And while they deny doing that, it's clear that they did send out tweets about Wells. So rather than talking about WVU's big win last night, most people are talking about what they did. We're pretty sure it's not what Huggins wants to be dealing with right now as he tries to prepare his team to face off against Kentucky later this week.
