A guide to how to beat Ohio State deserves its own post, but an easy and obvious suggestion would be to bring all your guns. Oregon won't be doing that because one if its best weapons got suspended.
Wide Receiver Darren Carrington didn't make the trip to Texas for the National Championship because he failed an NCAA-administered drug test for marijuana.
Some of you may know him as one of the main forces behind the ass-whooping Oregon gave to Florida State in the semifinals. Carrington caught seven passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns in that 59-20 win. He also came up big in the Pac-12 championship against Arizona, where he caught seven passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.
In other words, Oregon will be playing without one of its most clutch performers. This doesn't count the Ducks out—Carrington didn't force those five turnovers—but it's going to hurt if something as comparatively innocuous as marijuana costs them. It also doesn't help that wide receiver Devon Allen, another key contributor, is expected to sit this one out thanks to a knee injury suffered against FSU. The good news is that Marcus Mariota still exists as a Duck.
