Steph Curry said that his lastedg title proved to be his most important to date, and has admitted that’s why he was “ugly crying” on the court during the Finals.

In the latest installment of the Sports Illustrated interview series This or That, the Golden State Warriors All-Star said that the 21-22 Championship was “absolutely” his most meaningful to date. “You don’t find me ugly crying on the court for no reason,” Curry said. “That raw emotion that came out after Game 6 kind of signaled how much this meant to me, how much this meant to our team.”

Curry was notably emotional at the conclusion of Game 6 of his team’s win over the Celtics, and explained why. “The first one, you don’t really know what you’re doing until you accomplish it, and then you’re celebrating," he continued. "The next two were kind of validation, trying to remain champions. But after these last three years and winning that one, definitely the most special.”

Curry was also asked if he would give up his 2022 ring or the two he won with the team during the Kevin Durant era in 2017 and 2018. “I want this one,” he replied. “Give me this one, all day, every day.”

The 2022 title was a big one for Curry in part because of his injury in October 2019, which left him absent for a good chunk of the 19-20 season. He managed to work up to a comeback by 2021, though, as he was able to surpass Kobe Bryant’s record for a player aged 33 or older when he scored at least 30 points each game for 11 games straight.
