It's no secret that Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid and the NFL aren't on the best terms. Reid has been highly critical of the league's handling of protesting players and sued the league for collusion after he wasn't signed this past offseason. And now the Pro Bowler thinks that the league is expressing their dissatisfaction with him via random drug tests.

According to Carolina Panthers beat reporter Marcel Louis-Jacques, Reid thinks he's being targeted for the supposedly random testing. The safety shared that he's been drug-tested six times since signing with the Panthers on September 27.

Eric Reid was randomly selected by the NFL to take a drug test today. He told me it's his 6th drug test since signing w/ Panthers on Sept. 27, 5th random (1st test was part of his physical).

"This is supposed to be a random system. It doesn't feel very random."

"This is supposed to be a random system," he said. "It doesn't feel very random."

Reid was the first player to join in Colin Kaepernick's kneeling protest against police brutality. He believes, like Kaepernick, that his political activity hurt his career and that league owners conspired not to sign him due to his decision to protest. He's kept that same energy even after being signed, continuing his protest and beefing with other players who he felt were too cozy with the league. And with five drug tests in just eight games, he might have a point.
