Recently, Foot Locker released the first part of their new ad campaign, which involves James Harden learning the art of “short memory” from Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen. Barkley tells Harden that all the greats of the game have short memory, which is why Barkley says he never had a bad game, and Pippen claims to be the greatest Chicago Bull of all time. More like MIB than short memory, if you ask us, but on to the latest “short memory” spot. In this addition, Landon Donovan, who recently announced he would retire at the end of this MLS season, showcases his own “short memory,” and it’s rather awkward truth be told. Harden wants to talk about Landon’s controversial omission from this summer’s U.S. World Cup squad, to which Donovan replies that his summer was “sick.” LD continues, “How can they cut me? I’m the captain.” Pippen and Barkley were funny, after watching Donovan, it feels like this just came a little too soon after the snub. Watch the spot in full awkwardness, above.
