Most people are thankful they don't have to work on Christmas. Not Carmelo Anthony.
According to the New York Post, the Knicks forward let it be known he was not happy with the NBA's schedule makers after they left New York off the slate of Christmas day games for the first time in six years.
"I ain't watching nothing,’’ Anthony said before Wednesday's gave against the Cavs in Cleveland. “We should’ve been on Christmas. Christmas in New York. That’s what it should’ve been."
The Knicks have played on Christmas more than any other team, accumulating a 22-28 record, with 42 of those games have been played at Madison Square Garden. But after last season's abysmal 17-win campaign, and low expectations for this year, the NBA obviously preferred to keep the Knicks off its marquee slate of games.
"Of course we want to play on Christmas," Anthony added. “I love that. That’s showtime, especially in New York. But we’ll get our shot at it. They'll come back to us.
With a surprising 14-15 record, expect to see Carmelo, Kristaps Porzingis, and company on the Christmas schedule next year.
