Jalen Ramsey Goes After Rob Gronkowski: 'I Don’t Think Gronk’s Good'

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Jalen Ramsey famously ripped numerous opposing quarterbacks in a GQ interview published earlier this month. Now, in an ESPN feature, Ramsey has ripped another of the game's biggest names: Rob Gronkowski.

"I don't think Gronk's good," Rasmey said, per ESPN's Mina Kimes. "Let me say—I don't think Gronk is as great as people think he is."

The Patriots and Jaguars matched up in this year's AFC Championship Game. Gronk had one catch for 21 yards.

"Any time Gronk has been matched up with a corner, he's had a very bad game, and that corner has had a very good game," Ramsey added.

In the AFC title game, Danny Amendola was Tom Brady's primary receiving target. Ramsey also roasted Amendola, who signed with the Dolphins in the offseason.

"He just got a brand-new contract, and he is terrible," Ramsey said. "People think he's so great. No, he's not. Tom [Brady] made him look good. Tom could take me as a receiver, and I'd be a first-team All-Pro."

Talk about a hot take. Amendola's greatness may be debatable, but Gronk remains one of the NFL's most valuable targets. Though teams continue to game plan around stopping him, the 29-year-old last season caught 69 passes for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns.

Ramsey is creating a lot of rivalries this summer. He called Matt Ryan "overrated." He said the Bills selecting Josh Allen was "a stupid draft pick to me." He said Eli Manning's success is a product of Odell Beckham Jr.'s greatness, and Big Ben's success is attributable to Antonio Brown.

Ramsey's loud mouth has spurred pundits such as Michael Wilbon to challenge the young corner to back it up on the field this year.
