During the summer of 2019, Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin's two comedy series—South Side (Comedy Central) and Sherman's Showcase (IFC)—owned all summer '19. Both series found a way to present black life and entertainment without being cookie-cutter; there was a ton of innovation, quirkiness, and all-around hilarious AF situations. While South Side was more sitcom-y, Sherman's Showcase was a send-up of classic variety television programming, but also a device to get hella jokes off. After an impressive season, IFC is bringing Sherman and the gang back for a one-night "Black History Month Spectacular", airing Friday, June 19 on AMC and IFC.

In the one-hour special, Sherman's dream of doing a Black History Month special comes true, even if we're months past the actual Black History Month. Loads of talented stars make appearances, from John Legend (who is also an executive producer on the series), Phonte Coleman (who works on the hilariously ill parody songs on the show), Michael Ealy, Jemele Hill, Lil Rel Howery, and many more—including animated versions of ?uestlove and Black Thought from The Roots, among others.

You can check out the full announcement for the special up above, and be sure to tune in at 10PM (on AMC) and 11PM (on IFC) on June 19 for the Sherman's Showcase Black History Month Spectacular.
