Megan Thee Stallion, deservedly, is on the latest cover of Rolling Stone. The accompanying interview was penned by Charles Holmes and sees the prolific Fever artist directly addressing a number of topics that have landed in headlines as of late, including the unfortunate practice of the general public romantically linking her to anyone with whom she happens to be photographed.

"These are my immediate girlfriends, and we all have a lot of guy friends," Megan, who was most recently made the subject of such inane speculation thanks to a G-Eazy IG post, said. "But now, it's just a public thing. People think that if I'm hanging out with anybody, it got to be, 'Oh, they're having sex.' Why can't I just be turnt up with my friend tonight? They're just doing this shit because they want some attention, and I cannot feed into it."

Megan added that she still has anxiety due to grieving the loss of her mother and great-grandmother, which only makes the prevalence of what Holmes calls "a specific misogyny reserved for young black women" even worse.

"Then I have to get on the internet and see these motherfuckers talking about me? That shit really be pissing me off sometimes," she said.

Elsewhere, Megan spoke on how her grandmother is a big inspiration behind her decision to finish her degree.

"My grandmother would be very pissed off at me if I just stopped college right now," she said. "My mother would've been like, 'It don't matter.' I got to get this degree." The aim, she added, is to put it to use by opening up assisted-living facilities.

Also on the topic of college, Megan looked back on her time at Houston’s Prairie View A&M University, where she and two friends were once called in for a meeting with university administrators due to the rising popularity of their twerking videos.

"I was like, 'God damn,'" Megan said of the meeting, which saw the trio being forced to watch the videos with administrators. "I'm really in trouble [for] twerking right now!'" As part of an agreement to not tell their parents, Megan and her friends were tasked with penning research papers, though Megan ultimately moved her education to Texas Southern University.

Fans will also found some insight in the cover story on the status of Megan's upcoming Suga album. As it stands now, Megan is hoping to release the new project on May 2, as that was her mother's birthday. Among the confirmed collaborators for the Fever follow-up is legendary production duo the Neptunes.

Previously, Megan teased the arrival of Suga in a Complex interview that also touched on her in-progress horror script and her love for the Coach brand. The new persona that accompanies the album, she said at the time, is "more sweet" and "a little more vulnerable," albeit also "a fucking mess."
