The best teams against the spread this season? It shouldn't come as a surprise that the same teams covering like crazy are also among the best teams in the league.

As we near the halfway point of the season, it's worth taking a look at which teams are covering at an impressive clip. The undefeated Patriots are 5-2 ATS. The 6-1 Packers are also 5-2 ATS. The 4-2 Colts are an impressive 4-1-1 ATS. The 6-1 Saints, despite mostly playing backup Teddy Bridgewater, are 5-2 ATS. And the surprising 49ers, who nobody saw running out to a 6-0 clip after the season's first seven weeks, are 4-2 ATS.

I point that out say that while good teams win, great teams cover. We know that. But we always keep in mind that  not-so-good teams also can be pretty good at padding your bankroll. Take for instance two teams you probably haven't backed much this season. The Cardinals, at 3-3-1, are a surprising 5-2 ATS. Meanwhile, the Steelers, at just 2-4, are 4-2 ATS. So remember as you scan the lines every week that just because a team is last in the standings doesn't mean they can't cash you a ticket.

Week 8

Cap

Cardinals (+9.5) at Saints
What the hell? Arizona isn't that good, but as evidenced above, that doesn't mean they can't cover. Especially when they're getting a big number. And most especially when the line opened at 7.5 before it quickly jumped to 9.5. Over 75 percent of the bets and over 78 percent of the money is on the Saints in this one. That should be a warning.

Bucs (+2.5) at Titans
I don't trust the Titans to build off a win against a garbage Chargers squad so I'll take the road dog here. The records to know in this one: Tennessee is just 2-4-1 ATS this season while Tampa is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up loss.

Colts (-6) vs. Broncos
Don't love this game like the two above, but I have to pick a third game and I'm going with this one because Denver is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 road games while Indy, of course, has failed to cover just once so far this season.

Browns (+13)at Patriots
You probably saw this coming a mile away. Folks, put the rent money down.

Eagles (+1.5) at Bills
I think we see the Eagles bounce back this weekend and I'm not totally sure that the Bills are any good. Road dog week, baby.

Panthers (+6) at 49ers
It's road dog week, BABY. Book it.
