It was around this time last year that the NFL was rattled by the news that one of its premier defensive players would be suiting up for a new team in the upcoming season. After his contract holdout stretched through the preseason, Khalil Mack was dealt from the Oakland Raiders to the Chicago Bears for a bevvy of draft picks. He promptly signed a massive new deal with the Bears, creating a new era of the Monsters of the Midway.

Mack turned into a one-man wrecking crew in the Windy City. He only played in 14 games and his progress was often slowed by double- and triple-teams by panicked offensive lines, but he still managed to amass 12.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and an interception returned for a touchdown. For the third straight year, he was an All-Pro player. Most importantly, the trade immediately lifted his new squad into Super Bowl contention and sent his old squad into a tailspin.

Will a player of Mack’s caliber be on the move and change the league’s dynamics that significantly again this year? Probably not. But there are some very big names who could be sporting unfamiliar uniforms soon -- maybe even joining (or leaving) your favorite team.

Here are six big-name NFL players who could be packing up the moving trucks and joining a new team in the near future.
