This past year has been huge for Missy Elliott. The legendary artist received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music, became the first woman rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and will soon receive the coveted Video Vanguard Award at the 2019 VMAs. In celebration of these honors, Missy has decided to surprise fans with ICONOLOGY—her last album dropped 14 years ago.

“You, my fans, and God are the reason I am here and have celebrated every milestone with me ... Let’s continue the celebration at midnight tonight,” she wrote an Instagram post announcing the project. “I’m dropping a collection of new songs! Let’s #ThrowItBack to a time when music just felt good and made us want to dance!”

In conjunction with the ICONOLOGY's release, Missy has shared the video for the project's “Throw It Back” track. Check out the visual, which co-stars Teyana Taylor, above.
