Former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles hasn't played a down of football since October 2018. Although he is still contemplating lacing up his cleats, the dynamic running back believes that if he retired today, his bust should be on display in Canton, Ohio.

With veteran players like Jason Witten returning to the gridiron, many NFL lovers have wondered if other fan favorites will sign on for another stint in the league. TMZ Sports sat down with Charles to see if the 32-year-old has thought about doing the same.

"It's in the air right now," Charles said. "I'm going to sit down my family and still try to go through the process and see what's the right thing for me and us."

The running back then went on to say that even if he never plays another down of football, he feels that he put together a Hall of Fame career.

"I mean, some of my numbers look way better than some people already in Canton," Charles said. "I think what's definitely going to haunt me is not winning a Super Bowl, but I hope people can see what type of person I was just playing football."

Charles never won an offensive MVP or Super Bowl ring, but he does boast impressive yards per carry statistics. Throughout his 10-year career, Charles averaged close to 5.5 yards. With this, he tops the list for highest career average among running backs, ahead of Hall of Famers Jim Brown (5.22 yards) and Barry Sanders (4.9 yards).
