While professional soccer has always had presence in Canada (and popularity and financial success to boot—the TFC is one of the most valuable teams in the MLS), our country is finally getting its own fully professional national soccer league. The Canadian Premier League's first match is scheduled for April 27, and before the historic first season kicks off, we're getting an advance look at the kits for the league's founding seven clubs.

Italian sporting apparel company Macron is responsible for the kits, and makes the CPL one of the few leagues that have custom-made kits league-wide. In-depth research went into the creative process for each kit in regards to the symbolism and identity of the club within the design: Each jersey is inserted with a unique graphic symbol, image or letter that is representative of the club’s identity, paying homage to the cities where the clubs will play.

The Canadian Premier League seven founding clubs are the HFX Wanderers FC, York9 FC, Forge FC, Valour FC, FC Edmonton, Cavalry FC and Pacific FC. Check out the home jerseys for each club below, and peep the CPL's website for all the latest news and schedule updates on Canada's first national pro soccer league.
