Nike is continuing to add to its "City Edition" collection of NBA jerseys, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are the latest to receive an update. The "City Edition" jerseys are a nod to each team's respective city in which they play, and the threads created for the Timberwolves look to have a very special meaning.

Revealed by TheRinger, the upcoming jersey adopts a purple color scheme, which seemingly pays tribute to the late musical icon and Minnesota legend Prince, who died on April 21, 2016. The font used on the uniform also bears a resemblance to Prince and The Revolution's 1984 album (and the film) Purple Rain.

Take a look at the new uniform below.

Not much is currently known about the upcoming purple Timberwolves uniforms but keep it locked as more information, such as a release date and pricing, filter out.

Hopefully, these jerseys can entice fans enough to prevent them from booing Jimmy Butler, who is facing a large amount of criticism for his recent actions. So far in the season, the Timberwolves are 2-2. Their next game will be against the Toronto Raptors on Wed., October 24.
