Besides music and popping up in Starbucks racial bias training videos, Common has a whole new project on his hands. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Sports Films now have the rights to the upcoming boxing documentary They Fight, which the Chicago rapper is behind along with his company Freedom Road Productions and Argent Pictures.

The film follows a Washington, D.C.-based after school program Lyfe Style Boxing where formerly incarcerated coach Walt Manigan mentors two Junior Olympic boxers while also trying to secure a permanent location for the program. Manigan's program also helps young fighters avoid the trappings of their surroundings in the city's Ward 8 neighborhood, which has been called one of the country's most dangerous.

"It is important to share Coach Walt’s story and see how he overcame extreme hardships and now serves as a mentor to the youth in Ward 8," said Common. "It is a true example as to how we can take the most challenging of situations and turn them into a positive, not only for ourselves but for others."

Common isn't the only famous name attached to the project, NFL Quarterback Drew Brees, San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker, NBA All-Star Michael Finley and NFL Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks all serve as executive producers.
