Victor Oladipo Sends Letter of Encouragement to 10-Year-Old Fan With Leukemia

The Pacers star spoke from the heart.

Last month, in a letter dated April 27 (aka the day the Pacers beat the Cavs to force a first-round Game 7) rising Indiana star Victor Oladipo wrote a letter to a 10-year-old fan named Cameron Kirk who's battling leukemia. A few days after it was sent, Cameron's mom posted the letter to her Twitter and now (as is the cycle of media) we're posting it for you.

I recently heard about your battle with Leukemia, and I just wanted to encourage you to stay strong! I know this is a scary and very frustrating time right now, but you must believe in yourself and everyone around you that is helping you through this time.

In response, the young fan told WISH-TV that the message was "really cool."

"I was already a fan and then when I read the letter, it's the best feeling to know that someone so important took the time out to write our son a letter and then expressed his faith in God in his letter," his mother, Carrie, added. "That just sealed the deal with us with Oladipo. We'll always be fans."
