Rockets Fans Blame Ted Cruz for Game 7 Loss

The U.S. Senator came under fire for cursing the Rockets.

Republican politiciansΒ haveΒ been an unexpected theme of this year's NBA Western Conference playoffs. After Mitt Romney showed up at the Jazz's first-round defeat of the Thunder and taunted Russell Westbrook, Senator Ted Cruz emerged at Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

Cruz, who once called a hoop a "basketball ring,"Β sure seemed to be into the action.

The Rockets, of course, failed to fulfill Cruz's hopes, falling to Golden State, 101-92. And, naturally, Cruz came under fire for cursing Houston.

The Rockets missing 27 threes in a row was totally Ted Cruz’s fault. Him cursing them with his attendance is the only possible explanation. https://t.co/TKOMSNQFsy

I feel bad for Houston but if you’re gonna give Ted Cruz courtside seats this kind of thing is going to happen

The Rockets missing that many threes in a row is an almost unbelievable stroke of bad luck. I think we can all agree to blame Ted Cruz, yeah? https://t.co/8LvfQ2Wvyx
