The Golden State Warriors sure looked like the best team in NBA history Monday night.

In all seriousness. These Warriors are the greatest team we've ever seen assembled in the history of the NBA. Just appreciate that we're witnessing this in real time instead of seeking opportunities to get memes off. Our kids are gonna ask us about this team.

Golden State cruised to a 119-106 win against the explosive Houston Rockets, who started the game on a tear and were playing at home. It was one of those games that just felt unfair—how is anybody expected to stop Golden State?

Kevin Durant was unstoppable, scoring 37 points in 40 minutes. He elevated over shorter defenders and imposed his will in the midrange. After the game, however, he said he thinks his team could get even better.

"I don’t know if we're at our peak," Durant said, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes. "I think we could be better. I mean, the stakes are high. We're playing the Western Conference finals against the best team in the league, the No. 1 seed, an MVP on their team. So I think everybody just wants to enjoy this time. Not a lot of people get this opportunity, so we want to take advantage of it."

Crazy to consider, is it not?

Steph Curry said Durant, who came out firing from the tip, was "ready for tonight." The two-time MVP added 18 points. Klay Thompson stepped up in a big way, pouring in 28, and Golden State pulled away late in the fourth quarter.

Houston got 41 points from MVP favorite—and former Durant teammate—James Harden. Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager Sam Presti had to be shaking his head watching this game, thinking about the two that got away.

Houston and Golden State will square off in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. Catch it on ESPN.
