Steph Curry Only Has One Goal for His Return on Tuesday

Stephen Curry is back at long last.

Finally, Steph Curry will return to the Golden State Warriors' lineup Tuesday night—we think. Coach Steve Kerr said "I fully expect him to play Tuesday night," so it seems all but certain.

Curry has missed the last five and a half weeks with a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee, and the Warriors have taken their time to get him back on the court. When he was healthy, he was phenomenal this season. Curry looked like his vintage MVP self.

When he returns in the playoffs, however, Curry has only one goal.

"Just not suck after missing five weeks," Curry said, according to Marc Spears of The Undefeated. "That's my goal."

The Warriors cruised against the New Orleans Pelicans in Game One, 123-101. Golden State has an opportunity to take a commanding series lead Tuesday night. What can we expect from Curry?

"If I do get the green light, just play my game," he said. "Do what I do on both ends of the court to help the team. There is nothing special about it. Just try to use my energy as a spark."

Curry returned to practice last week. He participated in his first scrimmage Friday.

This season he averaged 26.4 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game. He shot 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. Though he played in only 51 games, he's a strong contender to qualify for one of the six All-NBA guard spots.

Game 2 of Warriors-Pelicans will take place Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. ET and air on TNT.
