It looks like Richard Sherman is headed to San Francisco.

Just one day after the star cornerback officially parted ways with Seattle Seahawks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced Sherman had inked a three-year contract with the 49ers. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later revealed that the deal was worth $39 million and included a $5 million signing bonus, according to sources.

And now it’s done: 49ers and CB Richard Sherman reached agreement tonight on a three-year deal, source tells ESPN.

Though Seattle didn’t officially release Sherman until Friday, the four-time All-pro began sending good-bye messages to his former teammates as early as Tuesday. This, of course, sparked plenty of speculation about where the 29-year-old athlete would head to next. There was talk about him eventually joining the Raiders or Chargers or Chiefs; however, it seemed most fans were convinced Sherman would go to the Patriots. The theory seemed less likely Saturday morning after it was confirmed that that the 49ers had met with Sherman to see if he was healing from his injuries.

The corner suffered a ruptured Achilles last fall and was forced to sit out the rest of the season. Naturally, there are a lot of concerns surrounding the athlete's health and ability; but If Sherman can make a speedy recovering, as many people expect him to do, he will give a much-needed boost to the 49ers' secondary.

Richard Sherman May be an asshole, but he’s our asshole now

The Richard Sherman revenge games against the Seahawks are already lit. 🔥🔥🔥

Richard Sherman can change this entire SF defense. DeForest Buckner and the front 7 will get more pressure up front. This young secondary is getting a coach on the field. 25 is now the leader of the 49ers. If it pans out, huge day for this organization
