Damian Lillard's Brother Shot and Hospitalized

Damian Lillard’s younger half-brother Jahrell Lillard has been hospitalized following a shooting in a parking lot on Thursday night.

According to TMZ, Oregon police believe the 20-year-old sibling of the Portland Trail Blazer point guard (and solid MC) was being targeted and that this wasn’t a random hit. As it stands, not too much about Jahrell Lillard’s condition is known, though he was transported to a local hospital after the suspects fled the scene. NBC WKYC reports the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office as saying Lillard will survive and that he had surgery following the incident.

The incident took place in Oregon’s Clackamas County, and saw Jahrell being gunned down by 2 unidentified shooters at around 9 P.M. on Thursday night. Witnesses reportedly stated that 5 to 10 shots were fired in total. Though some of these definitely hit Lillard, he was able to run off and reach a Macy’s Home Store nearby where police report he quickly collapsed, before being tended to. To make matters even more tragic, this occured the same day Damian Lillard shared the first pic of his newborn son, Damian Jr.

Unfortunately, not much else is currently known about the suspects. However, authorities say they have surveillance footage of the incident.
