In late January, former UFC star Ronda Rousey—perhaps MMA's first female superstar to become a household name—signed a full-time WWE contract. WWE loves to turn everything into entertainment, though, so the wrestling organization held a "contract signing" for Rousey during Sunday night's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please help me welcome to the WWE, Rowdy Ronda Rousey," said Triple H, the company's 48-year-old executive vice president. Rousey entered to raucous applause, and she looked overwhelmed with emotion. They quickly got on script, though, and in typical WWE fashion, things escalated quickly.

Kurt Angle, GM of Raw, tried to stir up some drama, referencing Rousey's appearance with the Rock at WrestleMania 31. After a funny little back-and-forth that involved Angle saying Stephanie McMahon had called her a "has-been," Rousey picked up her new boss, Triple H, and slammed him through a table.

McMahon then hopped into the ring and slapped Rousey.

Stephanie McMahon slaps Rousey, Rousey chases her off and signs her WWE contract. We’re one step closer to a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania. pic.twitter.com/qEhAhxvvUE

Considering she’s extremely new to this form of entertainment and is still in the early stages of working in the WWE TV product, I thought Ronda Rousey handled herself very well in her first real on-screen segment.

This was all an apparent setup for WrestleMania 34 on April 8. As ESPN reports, Rousey's partner in the tag-team event will likely either be Angle or the Rock, if WWE is able to secure his services.
