Kyrie Irving was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night, and Jimmy Kimmel asked the Celtics point guard about all kinds of different things during his interview. The two touched on everything from Irving’s love for musicals to the Friends tattoo he has on his left arm. Kimmel even gave Irving a special gift after hearing all about his flat Earth theory.

But one of the most interesting parts of the interview came towards the beginning when Kimmel asked Irving about the upcoming NBA All-Star Game and his thoughts on his former Cavaliers teammate LeBron James picking him to play on his team. Irving responded by saying, "I feel like it was a great choice."

Kimmel used that to segue into a couple questions about Irving’s relationship with LeBron. Truthfully, Irving didn’t look like he had a whole lot to say about LeBron, but he did briefly talk about where things stand between him and his ex-teammate. He first said he and LeBron have talked since going their separate ways. "We’ve talked, yeah," Irving said.

Irving followed that up by talking about whether or not he would ever be open to playing with LeBron again. Most people would assume the answer to that question would be a resounding "No" seeing as how their time with the Cavs came to an unceremonious end last summer. But Irving didn’t completely shoot down the idea when Kimmel pressed him about it. "In professional sports, anything can happen," Irving said. "So you never know."

Irving also told Kimmel about making the transition from Cleveland to Boston. "It’s new for me. Very, very new," he said. "My role. Getting an understanding of where I want to be moving forward within our team. My leadership role."

Elsewhere in the interview, Irving also spoke about his new Uncle Drew movie, what it was like to act alongside Shaq, and more. Check it all out in the clip above.
