Dion Waiters and Kevin Durant are homies. They played together for two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and back then, they enjoyed squaring off in games of one-on-one. As Waiters tells it, he used to beat K.D. all the time. Even as cordial teammates they enjoyed the occasional bit of trash talk.

Though these days they suit up for different squads—Waiters for the Miami Heat and Durant for the reigning champs in Golden State—they still enjoy competing with each other and exchanging savage-but-friendly banter.

Waiters was born in Philadelphia and is a huge Eagles fan. When his team stunned the world and upset the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Waiters was deeply emotional—so emotional he jumped around on one foot and was moved to tears. He shared his response with the world via Instagram.

K.D. had a hilarious response to Waiters' teary-eyed post.

Durant, of course, was referring to his hometown squad, the Washington Redskins, of whom he is a big fan. Washington just acquired quarterback Alex Smith from Kansas City, and though the Redskins finished 7-9 this season, Durant is clearly very optimistic about his team's future.

But it seems unlikely Waiters is all that bothered by Durant's trash talk.

Waiters recently had surgery on his left ankle and is expected to miss the rest of the season. He was averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game with the Heat, who are currently jockeying for playoff position in the East. They're at No. 7 as it stands, but the teams in spots 3-7 are all grappling.
