Everyone Made the Same Gisele Joke After Tom Brady Dropped a Pass in the Super Bowl

Tom Brady failed to make a catch on a trick play in Super Bowl LII.

Remember what Tom Brady’s wife Gisele Bündchen said after the Giants beat the Patriots at Super Bowl XLVI back in 2012?

For those who might not remember, Gisele got into it with a Giants fan who heckled her as she made her way out of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis that night. "Eli rules!" the fan yelled, obviously referencing Eli Manning. "Eli owns your husband!"

Gisele responded by yelling back at the fan. She was frustrated with the way the game ended and was miffed over a couple passes that were dropped by Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker and Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. "My husband cannot fucking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time!" she shouted at the fan. "I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times."

Gisele caught a lot of flack for saying that at the time, and she’s catching a lot of flack for it again on Sunday night because of a play the Patriots tried to run in Super Bowl LII against the Eagles. New England tried to fool Philadelphia by having Brady go out for a pass after he handed the ball off in the backfield—and it didn’t go as planned. Brady had a chance to make a play, but he dropped a pass from Danny Amendola.

The @Patriots get tricky...

And TB12 ALMOST makes the grab! 😱 #SBLII https://t.co/oyL6ux6B92

Everyone was quick to remind Gisele about what she said in 2012. Most people watching the game at home pulled out the same joke and directed it at her.

Insert Gisele’s quote about him that he can’t throw and catch the ball

Things then managed to get even worse for Gisele. Eagles quarterback Nick Foles caught this pass later in the second quarter for a touchdown on a trick play.

YUP. Nick Foles is catching TD passes.

In the @superbowl.

Unbelievable. #SBLII #FlyEaglesFly https://t.co/NGNpIrrshO

It led to another round of Gisele jokes.

In fairness to Gisele, she was just defending her husband the best way she could back in 2012. But that quote is going to live on in infamy.
