Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal are one of the most dominant duos in not only NBA history but the entire history of sports. The Lakers legends won 3 titles together including their 3-peat from 2000-2002. There were plenty of great times and plenty of bad times while the duo dominated the NBA. The Lakers were forced to keep only one of their two stars and logically chose the younger Kobe Bryant. However, it worked out well for both of them, as both their jerseys are now retired by the Lakers (Bryant having both #8 and #24 retired).
On Monday's edition of Inside The NBA, Shaq spoke briefly about his time with Kobe and what they were able to accomplish together. He also said he was inspired to reach out to Kobe after watching Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas' conversation with one another. Both Shaq and Kobe spoke briefly on the topic of activism, and how Bill Russell served as an influence to Kobe while Jim Brown was an influence to Shaq, respectively. You can watch the clip above and see the full conversation when it debuts during the 2018 NBA All-Star break, which ironically is in Los Angeles this year.
