On Sunday evening the Cincinnati Bengals bested the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 31-27 thanks to a last-minute 49-yard fourth down touchdown pass. And while that would otherwise just be a crappy ending or improbable loss to a divisional opponent, it carried extra significance since it bumped Baltimore from the playoffs, and got the Buffalo Bills in. Even more significant, it allowed Buffalo to end the longest postseason drought in the NFL. In fact, here is that play, made slightly more dramatic with the Titanic theme song because it can be hard to find full NFL clips on Twitter:
To show their appreciation, what we all assume are Buffalo Bills fans, have donated more than $100,000 to the foundation of the quarterback who threw that pass, Cincinnati's Andy Dalton. That foundation, called the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation, which the Cincy QB shares with his wife, helps to give financial aid to families with medical expenses.
Dalton took to twitter to show his gratitude for the donations, which are still being totaled up, with a video message.
And, hey, I'm not telling you how to spend your money Buffalo-area. But you might want to check and see if those guys in the Ravens secondary have foundations too.
