It was low-key but pointed.

Derek Carr warms up.

During her appearance on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, NFL wife/notorious shit talker Miko Grimes told a story that sounded completely made up when she said that the Oakland Raiders' offensive line purposely let QB Derek Carr get hurt in Week 4 because Carr told them not to kneel during the playing of the national anthem:

For those of you who hate watching videos—which I get—here's her story in print form:

[Carr] was against [the offensive line] protesting. And they had a fight in the locker room before that Monday night game with the Redskins [Ed. note: It was actually a Sunday night game.] They were fighting in the locker room, and that’s the only all-black offensive line in the NFL is the Raiders.

Shortly after Grimes made that claim one of those Raiders lineman, Donald Penn, tweeted the following not so subtle message:

It’s crazy how people will make up lies and tell a story so false and untrue 2 get them some attention I️ hope it was worth it all lies😭😂😭😂😭

— Donald Penn (@DPENN70) November 7, 2017

Not one to let anything slide, Grimes responded to that with a reference to this near-incident:

This is all the explanation you, I won’t reply back to anything else on this subject... God, Love & Peace 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/DV2ysFTQ04

And to that, Penn's wife Dominque replied with this:

On top of all those tweets, Oakland cornerback Antonio Hamilton (who would seem to have some perspective on what goes down in his own team's locker room) also sent this out:

If you like public beefs (and, really, who doesn't?) this probably provided you with some mild entertainment. Now that you're all caught up, we should report that Derek Carr, the guy who took four sacks that night against the Redskins (and then suffered a fracture in his back the next week against the Broncos) didn't respond until Tuesday afternoon, doing so with a highlighted Bible verse (which is something that he frequently does on his Twitter account, by the way):

Guess that would be the high road in this situation. But, man...social media makes just about everybody insufferable, doesn't it?
