Eight hand-picked street football squads from across Sydney were invited to a knockout tournament on Friday night. The adidas Tango League event was right at home in ultrafootball.com’s massive warehouse space in Sydney’s south.

If you’re not yet up on game, Tango League is adidas’ fast-paced version of street football, open to anyone, with big-time prizes on offer. The competition spans the entire globe, and on Friday night, it was Sydney’s time to shine.

The uptempo football action took place on the pitch, and was accompanied by a turned-up selection of tunes from 21 Savage, Post Malone, Travis Scott and more, but true to the stereotype, the best fits for football were tracks from Stormzy, Skepta and Stooki Sound.

The knockout comp was claimed by Sydney Street Crew, with SSC player Daniel Khodani taking out the MVP award, earning him a $2,000 adidas boot deal.

Also on hand to enjoy the event were Sydney FC’s Bobo and Miloš Ninković, and Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Roly Bonevacia. With the rest of the crowd, the A-League stars not only caught the on-pitch action but also witnessed the unveiling of adidas’ new Pyro Storm.
