Nate Diaz Blasts UFC for Glorifying Conor McGregor's Loss to Floyd Mayweather

Nate Diaz took aim at the UFC for what he feels is an inaccurate representation of Conor McGregor's loss to Floyd Mayweather.

To say there's no love lost between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz would not really be doing the animosity between the two fighters justice. McGregor's only loss by submission in his MMA career came at the hands of Diaz, a fact that Diaz likes to remind McGregor of on a regular basis.

And like many others, Diaz appears to be rejoicing in McGregor's loss to Floyd Mayweather, who made McGregor look pretty unprepared to cope with the rigors of a long fight. Those with motivation to do so have painted the Mayweather loss as a moral victory for McGregor, who didn't totally embarrass himself in the early rounds, and that group includes the UFC. But when Diaz spotted the company promoting McGregor with a quote that alluded to the fight's outcome—"I never lose, either I win or I learn"— he went off on the organization on Instagram for what he felt was a silly approach.

"He punched himself out the same way he lost in the UFC," said Diaz, "no learning going on. #Overpromotion bullshit, get off the nuts this the shit I'm talking about, Bruce Lee would've never lost like that. #RealNinjaShit"

There's a bit of truth to Diaz's claim. McGregor's stamina has been an issue for the majority of his professional career, and despite warnings from those in the boxing community that this would flare up again against Mayweather, McGregor still went out and wore himself down by throwing too many punches in the early rounds and not leaving himself any fuel in the tank. McGregor was sucking wind in the ring long before the referee had to stop the fight in Round 10.

Now that Diaz has decided to weigh in on the Mayweather/McGregor fight, it's even more of a shame he didn't somehow get involved in Mayweather's ring entrance. There were rumors Diaz would come out to troll McGregor in the moments before the bout, which would have upped the absurdity on a fight that was already on a level of its own.

UFC fans are still waiting on McGregor/Diaz III, and this will put a little extra juice into a rivalry. Here's hoping they get to settle their differences sooner rather than later.
