Why do people keep trying to come for Kevin Durant on social media? At best, you’ll waste your 15 minutes of fame by becoming the guy who got crushed by KD on social media since he gets the chance to pick and choose who he wants to respond to, which gives him a distinct advantage over his haters. And at worst, KD will completely ignore you—over and over again—and you will become the guy who takes shot after shot at an NBA player who couldn’t care less about you. Seems like a lose/lose situation to us.
But whatever the case, people continue to go at KD on social media, and this summer, he has taken it upon himself to respond early and often to disrespectful "fans." KD has gotten into the habit of engaging in wars of words with those who have tried to come for him on Twitter, Instagram, and even YouTube. And more often than not, he’s come out on top, since most of the people he’s responded to haven’t exactly brought their A game when it's come to trash talk.
Most recently, it appears as though a Thunder fan tried to go at KD by sliding into his DMs on Instagram, according to this tweet that surfaced Wednesday night.
The fan in question criticized KD for the same thing most fans have criticized him for over the last year—abandoning Oklahoma City to chase a ring with the Warriors. And while the fan probably didn’t expect to get a response from KD, it looks like KD actually took the time to address him and told the fan to "shut the fuck up." He then proceeded to rip the fan for "writing a long message to someone who didn’t even know u existed" before telling the fan to "show me the rule book on how I am supposed to conduct business as a basketball player."
And when the fan responded to KD by asking him to come back to OKC one day, all KD could do was laugh and ask, "u gonna just turn heel like that?" The fan actually wrote back to KD one more time and got another response from him, with this one being a lot nicer than the first one. But KD ended his message to the fan by telling him that he will "forever bleed thunder blue" before adding, "And warriors blue lmao."
