Though he can be a bit annoying for your favorite team to go up against as an opponent—okay, a lot annoying—Bryce Harper is one of the few individual baseball players worth tuning in for on his own. The sport needs more players like him, even if he is polarizing, to help offset some of the losses they're taking among a younger generation of fans.

That doesn't mean everything he does is going to be a hit, though. On Tuesday evening, Harper shared a picture of himself undergoing a bit of a change to his hair, sporting a set of cornrows for all the world to see. The photo quickly got picked up by a number of outlets, because even when he's on the disabled list, Harper is a bigger attraction than most of his peers.

The bad news for Harper—who seemed totally excited by his new haircut!—is that nobody appears to be feeling the new look. Within minutes of the photo circulating on social media, he was the target of an endless array of jokes.

Rob Manfred: there has been a serious decline in the percentage of black MLB players

Bryce Harper: say no more fam pic.twitter.com/5mfCyoL9AN
Red Sox: We're going to have the dumbest MLB story of the day.

Bryce Harper: Hold my hair spray......
I hate this a lot. Bryce Harper had the best hair in pro sports and now he looks like a knock off Ron Swanson when Tammy 2 comes around. https://t.co/8hM5BZZQQy

Personally, it's a little hard to get this fired up about another person's hair choices, barring someone walking around with a completely outrageous hairstyle. It's not like Harper is walking around with a neon green mohawk or shaving just one-half of his head bald.

That said, maybe rethink this one, Bryce. The tribe has spoken, and you should probably consult a few more people before you make your next drastic style change.
