Here’s Arguably the Worst Pitch Ever Thrown at a Red Sox Game

"The poor guy took that first pitch right in the McNuggets."

Wednesday night at the Boston Red Sox v. St. Louis Cardinals game at Fenway Park in Boston, cancer survivor and Red Sox fan Jordan Leandre threw one of the worst first pitches of all time. He threw the ball too hard and skewed it way too much to the right, but the worst part was where the ball ended up: right in the crotch of a cameraman who was innocently standing by.

A colleague of the (now probably very injured) cameraman shared the photo that he managed to take just seconds before the ball made impact with his, um, nether regions. It’s pretty incredible.

My camera man @TonyCapobianco is the poor guy that took that first pitch in the McNuggets. Here's his view of it coming in. pic.twitter.com/NVD70hiIn2

Also, did we mention that Leandre is a pitcher?

To make matters worse, I'm a pitcher 🤦🏻‍♂️

Many are calling this the worst first pitch of all time, because while many have failed in the past, very few have managed to hit an innocent bystander right in the nuts. But then again, that does show good aim, just perhaps not correct aim. There have arguably been much worse pitches in the past.

Take, for example, former Mayor of Cincinnati Mark Mallory’s pitch.

There’s also 50 Cent’s first pitch, which went hilariously left.

Who could forget Michael Jordan’s absolutely horrendous pitch at Wrigley Field back in 1998? MJ is definitely the G.O.A.T in basketball, but his baseball days just weren’t as stellar.

“Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen’s first pitch was less of a pitch and more of… an accident?

There’s also whatever this Miss Texas contestant was trying to do with her first pitch back in 2014.

One of the best/worst first pitches of all time, though, has to go to Mariah Carey, who clearly started giving up a long time ago.
