Tiger Woods was arrested early Monday morning on charges of driving under the influence, according to reports emerging out of Florida.

According to WPTV, the 41-year-old golfer was arrested in Jupiter, Florida, the town he currently lives in. He was stopped on Military Trail South of Indian Creek Parkway, and brought into police custody as of 3 a.m. Monday.

Prison records indicate Woods was booked at 7:18 a.m., and released at 10:50 a.m. Monday morning.

According to TMZ, Woods was seen, "driving erratically, all over the road" when local police stopped him. The arresting officer reportedly requested a breathalyzer test after he smelled alcohol on Woods' breath, and the golfer refused, which results in an automatic arrest and license suspension. Woods' Mercedes avoided being impounded after someone close to Woods came and picked up the vehicle.

A former roommate of Woods' at Stanford, Notah Begay, called the situation "embarrassing" for Woods, and related his own experience with drunk driving charges. Begay insisted Woods could grow from the ordeal.

“It’s embarrassing for Tiger, something that you can’t go back and change," said Begay. “I’ve been there myself. ... But it was a turning point in my life. Hopefully, it’s something he’ll learn from, grow from, take responsibility for and use it to make some changes.”

During Woods' now infamous fight with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, he hit a tree with his vehicle while driving under the influence. Woods was not charged with a DUI as a result of the incident.
