Kirk Cousins’ Wife Hustled Him Into Wearing a Festive AF Suit to Post-Game Press Conference

Kirk Cousins' wife snuck a festive holiday suit into his bag for Saturday's game.

Kirk Cousins’ wife packs a suit for him every game, which he changes into for the post-game press conference. When he pulled it out Saturday, however, a surprise awaited him: the suit jacket was pine green and covered in Christmas ornaments and lights.

Nonetheless, Cousins fearlessly sported the jacket to face the press following Washington’s 41-21 thumping of the hapless Chicago Bears. Perhaps he would’ve decided otherwise if the Redskins had lost.

“The story is, my wife always packs my suit and I just grab the bag when I come home, I don’t even look at it,” Cousins explained. “I opened it up just now and saw this. It comes with pants and a matching tie, but I thought that was overkill. So, we won and it’s Christmas Eve. I thought, ‘why not?’”

Cousins said he got the OK from Washington’s senior vice president of communications, Tony Wyllie. Wyllie is known to be a polarizing figure in media circles.

Cousins went 18 for 29 for 270 yards and one touchdown. He’s had a very strong season, completing 67 percent of his passes, throwing for 4,630 yards, and tossing 24 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He is playing on a one-year, $20 million contract, and if Washington plans to keep Cousins around, the team is going to have to fork over some serious money.

But it could be worth it. He’s put up solid stats this year, and besides: who doesn’t want their franchise QB to be a guy who wears a festive suit on Christmas Eve?
