Former NFL linebacker Quentin Groves, who spent time with the Jaguars, Raiders, Cardinals, Browns, Texans, Titans, and Bills after being selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by Jacksonville, has reportedly died after suffering a heart attack. He was 32.

Prior to joining the Jaguars in 2008, Groves played at Auburn where he was an All-SEC selection in 2006 and 2007. He finished his career with the Tigers tied for the career sacks record with 26. But in the months leading up to the 2008 NFL Draft, Groves was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a condition that causes the heart to beat too rapidly, and he was forced to undergo a surgical procedure to treat it. He was later cleared to play in the NFL and finished his pro career with 175 tackles, two interceptions, and 9.5 sacks.

According to reports, Groves was vacationing in Trinidad this week to celebrate his daughter’s birthday when he died. He is survived by wife Teska Baptiste, his son Que’Mani Kassan Shiloh, and his daughter Que’Jaah.

After news of Groves’ death started to circulate on social media on Saturday, many fans, former teammates, and college and pro players began sending their condolences to Groves’ family and shared their memories of him.
