After watching 'Luke Cage,' Martellus Bennett feels like he tapped into his inner version of the "bulletproof brother from Marvel."

On the New England Patriots' opening drive against the Cleveland Browns earlier today, Martellus Bennett went down an ankle injury, and was considered questionable to return. However, after getting his ankles re-taped, Bennett came back into the game, and reaped the rewards of Tom Brady's return from a four-game suspension, catching six passes for 67 yards and three touchdowns.

After the game, Bennett spoke to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe about his ankle injury, bluntly admitting, "Shit hurts." But after a brief moment on the ground, he got up, turned the cart away, and jogged off the field. "They asked me if I needed a cart and I'm just like, 'Shit, I'm going to look so weak,'" Martellus said.

Bennett also revealed what motivated him to quickly bounce back from the injury. "And I've been watching Luke Cage - you know, he's a bulletproof brother from Marvel," Bennett said. "And I'm like, what would Luke Cage do right now? He'd get up and keep bouncing around. I was like, I got to get off and just run off the field and come back into the game. I don't know, it was just in the moment, one of those things."

When it comes to delivering memorable and hilarious quotes, there are few players in the NFL better than Bennett. And if the Patriots continue to play well, we should expect to see plenty of great one-liners from the younger Bennett brother for weeks to come.
