Are there 14 NBA players better than Carmelo Anthony right now? It’s debatable Probably, but Carmelo Anthony certainly doesn’t think so. Carmelo might be getting up there in age now and his best years might be behind him, but in his eyes, he’s still one of the best players in the Association.

SLAM doesn’t agree. The magazine is working its way through its annual SLAM Top 50 list this month, and on Wednesday, it revealed that Carmelo landed at No. 15 this season. And while the mag said that Carmelo can "still get buckets with the best" in their write-up for Carmelo, it also conceded that his overall reputation is tied to his team’s success—and since the Knicks haven’t had much of it in recent years, they were forced to move Carmelo down on their list accordingly.

Carmelo found out and proceeded to call SLAM out for his ranking. In one comment that he left on Instagram, he said the mag lost "all credibility" by putting him at No. 15:

In another, he wrote "don’t play yaself" and tagged SLAM in the comment:

Carmelo is obviously entitled to his opinion, but uhhhhh, does anyone want to tell him where he landed on Sports Illustrated's list? Let’s just say that he’ll be backtracking and thanking SLAM for putting him at No. 15 once he sees that.
