The Chicago Cubs haven't won a World Series in 108 years. You may've heard that brought up a couple thousand times over the past few weeks. Of course this means nothing if you're in high school, or college, or whatever. You haven't been alive for 108 years, and thus you haven't witnessed a number of teams win the World Series. But it's a pretty noteworthy drought, regardless.

However, in case you thought every diehard from the time when the Cubs last won the World Series was long gone, you'd be wrong. Cubs fan Mabel Ball was born just two months before the Cubs' last title, back in 1908, meaning she has plenty of reason to bemoan a loss.

Ball was the subject of an ABC 7 Chicago profile that aired this week, pointing out that though she didn't get around to attending her first game until she was 90, she mainly listened to games on the radio back when that was the only option available.

The ABC 7 spot originally aired when the Cubs were tied up in the World Series at one game apiece with the Cleveland Indians. Since then, things have taken a turn for the worse, as the Cubs now face a 3-1 deficit.

Game 5 will take place on Sunday night.
