See original story below.

A college football fan named Sam Crowder had the bright idea to ask his mom for beer money during Saturday's edition of College Gameday from Tennessee. Crowder created a sign reading, "Hi Mom! Send beer money," with the Venmo logo and his Venmo ID at the bottom. His sign made it on air, it started getting shared on social media, and—believe it or not—the young man actually started receiving donations. Lots of donations.

So far, he has received more than 225 donations. Are they mostly $1 or $2 payments? Probably. But that's still a lot of money. Here is a small glimpse at the contributions that have poured into his Venmo page, via Twitter:

Sam Crowder is a genius! Had to throw the kid $5 for his sign on College GameDay giving his Venmo name #SAFTB

The money is just pouring in for this dude. Please don't be salty that you didn't think of this first—we all know most college students are broke.

Let's celebrate this guy's massive victory and hope he'll share this wealth of beer money with all his buddies.
